Laura L. Neff-Henderson, APRLaura L. Neff-Henderson, APR has extensive public relations experience in public and private education as well as non-profits. In her current full-time position, Laura oversees communications for the Division of Administrative Services at Virginia Tech. She is also responsible for developing and maintaining the university's internal communications program.
Laura has extensive experience building and managing communications, marketing, and branding programs for various educational and non-profit organizations across the state of Virginia. She has previously worked for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Greater Blue Ridge Chapter, North Cross School, Arlington Public Schools and Petersburg Public Schools. Before beginning her public relations career, Laura worked as a newspaper reporter and page designer for The Progress-Index, The Southwest-Times, and The News Messenger. Adding to her wealth of communications experience, Laura has also taught high school and college English and journalism courses. She currently teaches a media writing class at Virginia Tech. Laura has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from Radford University and a master’s degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. She earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in 2008 and is actively involved in the Blue Ridge Chapter of PRSA as the accreditation chair and New River Valley Outreach Committee chair. |
